Potential Market:
Based on a census created in 2016, there is currently 323.1 million people living in the us, 206.784 million of which wear correction lenses. In the U.S there is 100% chance for it to rain in every state of the country. Therefore there is a 64% demand of the entire populations for correctional glasses that function in the rain without distorting the wearers vision, resulting in approximately 206,784,000 potential buyers.
Summary:
Now that the project has been established the project moves on a little bit smoother. Spencer and I are still doing great working together. Throughout this part of the project we had to find patents and products of our problem. The patents we found were from the 18 and 1900's. Almost all the patents solved our problem of rain getting on gasses. But some of the patents were unpractical or had a couple of flaws in them. Which is OK because it helped me and Spencer form our own invention in our minds that limits the existing flaws. For the products at fist the only product I could find was rain-x which is a spray you put on thins that acts as a wax coating to keep things water roof. Other than that it took a while to find real working products that if you wanted to buy on the web or in stores. Finally we found our potential market which was much larger than I expected. I didn't think that almost 2/3 of the population would wear glasses. However I'm not complaining because this just means we have more potential to make a product off of our product. I'm looking to continuing this capstone Project!
